Our Story
Kemesha Culinary Art & Coffee Science Academy was founded in 2025 with a simple but powerful belief: coffee can open doors. In Addis Ababa—Ethiopia’s vibrant capital and the birthplace of coffee—we saw how this heritage could become more than a tradition. It could become opportunity.
Many talented individuals are searching for stable employment and a chance to build a secure future. At the same time, Ethiopia’s expanding café sector needs skilled, confident baristas. Kemesha was created to meet both needs by offering hands-on coffee education supported by mentorship, life-skills development, and pathways toward dignified work.
Though we began as a small pilot initiative, our mission has quickly grown. Today, Kemesha Academy continues to use coffee as a tool for transformation—turning potential into purpose, skill into opportunity, and hope into a pathway forward.
